Worcester BID is working closely with local and regional publications in order to promote Worcester’s offer to shop, eat, play and live. Here are some examples of past projects, where we were able to exclusively offer BID businesses the opportunity to advertise for free or a significantly reduced rate.
In 2010 we gave 28 businesses in Mealcheapen Street, St. Swithins Street and Trinity Street free advertising on the wrap of the Berrows Worcester Journal.
In November 2011 we negotiated a greatly reduced rate for BID businesses to have a full page in the Worcester News for £300 as part of a Christmas supplement. This would normally have cost £1700 for a three week campaign.
In January 2012, 12 professional service businesses also signed up to advertise for free in the Worcester News after the Worcester BID were able to bulk purchase advertising space.
In March 2012 we funded a feature on Reindeer Court outlining all tenants in Live 24 Seven magazine. We also promoted Worcester as a whole in March 2012 with a feature in Worcestershire Now, Wye Valley Now and Primary Times magazines.
In 2013 and 2014 we worked with the Worcester News to produce dedicated event and campaign supplements and features with specially reduced rates for BID businesses, e.g. for the Worcester Motor Festival (May) and Uniquely Worcester (September/October).
We have also worked in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce to offer reduced advertising rates for BID businesses in the Worcestershire Eating Out Guides 2013/2014 and 2014/2015, as well as the Visit Worcestershire Official Guide 2014/15 with a dedicated accommodation guide section (p. 31 onwards).
