Field off to Pastures New
After almost 9 years with Worcester BID, Adrian Field is leaving to take on a new role at the new Cardiff BID with a last working day of Friday 23rd December. Adrian added ‘I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you all for providing me with some brilliant moments and results in what has been a thoroughly rewarding role. Highlights during my time have been voted BID of the Year in 2011, the work that the BID and businesses did to get ourselves back on our feet as a result of the flooding in 2014 through our #Open4Business campaign, and the successful lobbying that we did to help the huge Worcester Woods Retail Park planning application be refused at Planning Committee in June with no sign of an appeal coming from the applicants.
Having been born and currently living in Worcester, I will continue to keep abreast of all the latest news and plans and I know that you will be in good hands for all BID related matters with the rest of our excellent team.’
From January and until a permanent successor is in place there will be interim cover provided by Georgia Smith who as a previous Head of VisitWorcester is well aware of Worcester BID’s activities.
Money Off Mondays
Worcester BID has offered to assist the Worcester News with their new Money Saving Mondays feature which aims to promote your business at no cost to you. Every Monday they will be publishing a full colour page in the Worcester News containing four or five different offers from local businesses that are exclusive to their readers from BOGOF offers to discounts off products/services. Readers just cut out the voucher and take it when they want to use the offer (unless otherwise stated).
There is NO charge for this – you just need to supply the offer exclusively to their readers. They will include your logo and a picture along with details of the offer, an example of which is here . They will also be pre-promoting the offers in the Worcester News and their sister paper the Berrows Worcester Journal.
The primary aim of Money-Saving Mondays is to offer readers a reward for their loyalty, with exclusive deals that offer even better value for money from their local paper.
We feel that this is a good opportunity to promote yourselves and your services, and increase footfall. It may also be a way of testing out a particular new product range, or a way of providing an incentive to attract new customers, or promoting the business during quiet periods.

Traders’ Meeting Notes
Please find attached a copy of the latest Worcester BID Traders’ Meeting Notes for your information. Again attendance was excellent so look out for the meetings taking place in 2017.
Shouting About Our Great Evening and Night-time Offering
Worcester BID has funded NightSafe to produce a radio marketing campaign to promote Worcester’s great food and drink offering this Christmas. Click here to listen to the adverts currently appearing on Free Radio.
Keep Your Views Clean
Worcester City Council are keen to get your views on street cleansing standards in the city. Their Scrutiny Committee are keen to understand the perceptions of business and so have produced a short survey which they would like as many businesses to complete as possible. The deadline is 17th January.
We are also keen to see which businesses have a commitment for their staff to undertake projects as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility. For example NatWest staff help out local cricket clubs spruce up their grounds and pavilions.
