IMG_0349To celebrate the 11th Worcester Motor Festival the event will be featuring a great mix of exciting new and well-loved established feature displays and activities on Saturday 20th May 2017 from 9am to 5pm.

View a showcase of over 30 of the latest dealership cars and a selection of special race cars in High Street, and discover a wonderful array of more than 100 rare historic vehicles throughout the city centre.

Ensure to benefit from a number of special offers and enjoy in store activities, street stalls and displays by local city centre businesses throughout the shopping area. There is plenty to see and do for kids and grown-ups – from toy car racing and craft workshops to prize draws and interactive games. You can even find out about the latest motor insurance deals, driving jobs and engineering courses.

IMG_0784Roving street entertainment and live music will create a fantastic atmosphere! The little ones will also love their day at the event with free face painting and colouring competitions.

Take advantage of the Motor Festival’s central location and enjoy Worcester’s fantastic shopping offer browsing through unique independent shops and major High Street chains. If you prefer a round of relaxing window shopping, why not vote for your favourite motoring themed shop window in the Worcester News competition? If you need a bit of a break, simply pop into one of Worcester’s quality restaurants, cosy cafés and welcoming bars and pubs. This free event is for car enthusiasts and the whole family

Vintage and classic car fans can enjoy a stroll through the pedestrianised event area in the heart of the city centre. Travel down memory lane when discovering more than 100 amazing classic and vintage cars from the late 1920s to the 1970s throughout Worcester’s lively shopping area. Look out for retro street rods, a prototype beach car, plus selection of historic motorcycles, amongst other.

The Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb will be having a display of race cars outside CrownGate, including single seaters and a race prepared road car. Find out more about 2017 hill climb events and this special venue, which has been holding motorsport events since 1905 and is located 15 minutes to the west of Worcester city centre. The Midland Automobile Club will also be displaying a number of classic cars around the Cathedral in the afternoon.

Highest standards of craftmanship can be admired at the High Street display by Malvern Link based Morgan Motor Company. Visitors can view a Morgan Roadster and a Morgan 3 Wheeler close up at the Motor Festival. The friendly team of the last remaining family owned, independent British motor manufacturer will also provide information about their fascinating factory tours and special souvenirs are available at their stall.

There will also be a truly unique display of a DS3 WRC Diorama celebrating the Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena’s unrivalled nine FIA World Rally Championship titles. This amazing diorama showing nine different rally terrains has been commissioned by Citroën. This exhibit is not to be missed!

At Copenhagen Street, outside the former fire station, the Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue Service crew and volunteers will be showcasing one of their fire appliances. A display of their boat, as well as an information marquee and firefighters charity stall from 10am to 4pm are planned (subject to operational commitments).

A special police car display will be featuring in Broad Street, including vintage and American police cars, a public order (riot) police van and a stall by West Mercia Police, where you can meet your local officers. Kids can also meet friendly mascot ‘Peeler’ the police dog through the day.

Balloon Powered Car Workshop

Free family drop in workshop creating balloon powered cars from recycled materials that can be made on the day, raced and taken home as a little souvenir.

Children must be supervised by their parents at all times. Min. age 5 years, as the activity contains small parts, but parents of younger children could make a car with their child and supervise them playing with them.

Which is your favourite shop window?

Do you love window shopping? Vote for your favourite motoring or vintage themed shop window and help to choose the best one. Everyone who votes is in with a chance to win £170 worth of goodies and vouchers to spend at the businesses whose windows feature in the competition.

Enjoy the beautiful landscapes of David Cox and his contemporaries Turner and Constable in an exhibition exploring Cox’s position in the great age of British water colouring painting.

Enquiring Minds until 11th November
Visitors can discover a period of seemingly impossible engineering feats, global wildlife explorations and world renowned artist sketching trips from Worcester’s past, with objects from the museum collection and some special items on loan.

Mini Beer Festival at Tudor House

For the 11th annual Worcester Motor Festival, Tudor House will be displaying classic, vintage motorbikes from the 1920s and up. These beautiful machines will be here for that day only, chat to their owners, compare notes, admire the chrome!

Joining Tudor House will be the Friar Street Mini Beer Festival, curated by The Cardinal’s Hat and showcasing the best real and craft ales Worcestershire has to offer.

Festival at the Fountains

Staff and students from Heart of Worcestershire College will be hosting a number of activities including face painting, live music, a BBQ, and much more at South Quay on the same day as the Worcester Motor Festival.

Visit South Quay from 11am to 3pm on 20th May for a showcase of music and performances from the college students. Visitors will have the chance to chat with staff and students about various courses, life at the college and future pathways they can take. To find out more, visit www.howcollege.ac.uk

Why not travel to the Worcester Motor Festival by bus or train this year? A great alternative, if you’re planning to visit the Friar Street Mini Beer Festival or staying out for a meal and a few drinks at Worcester’s quality bars, pubs and restaurants after the event.

CrownGate Bus Station and other local bus stops are right in the heart of the city centre with drop off points in close vicinity to the event area. Plan your journey on www.firstgroup.com/worcestershire.

Road Closure & Delivery Access Information for Businesses & Residents

There will be a number of road closures in place throughout Worcester city centre shopping areas from 6.30am to 7.30pm for the safe facilitation of the event. This may affect delivery access to businesses, access to residential properties and disabled parking bays. Please click here to view further details: Road Closure Letter & Deliveries Form (coming soon)

Information about alternative blue badge parking sites can be viewed on www.worcester.gov.uk/parking. The nearest sites to the event area for blue badge holders are at The Trinity, Trinity Street, Deansway, Cornmarket Car Park, St Martin’s Gate Car Park, Copenhagen Street and CrownGate Car Park.

Classic Cars & Motorcycles

The deadline for classic car and motorbike registrations is on Friday 17th March 2017.

Please download the Classic Vehicle Registration Form and Classic Vehicle Terms and Conditions here. If you would like to receive a printed set of registration documents or register your details on our vehicle owners’ mailing list for attendance in future years, please email an expression of interest with your full postal address, phone number and vehicle details to info@worcesterbid.com. For any other enquiries please contact Nadja on 01905 731612. Completed forms with an image of your classic vehicle can be returned by email to info@worcesterbid.com or post to Worcester BID, 4 Copenhagen Street, Worcester, WR1 2EY.

 

BID Businesses

If you are a Worcester BID levy paying business and would like to get involved, please view the BID business invitation letter and download the Sign Up Form. Worcester BID levy paying businesses can also take advantage of special Worcester News advertising rates for adverts placed in a feature on 19th May 2017, the same day as the dedicated Motor Festival supplement – for the rate card click here.

Dealership exhibition pitches

If you would like to book an exhibition pitch for new dealership cars or motorbikes, please contact Louise at the Worcester News on 01905 742390 for further details about available packages.

 

Stalls & Catering

We are offering stall pitches for motoring related products and services, as well as vintage themed products and services. 3m x 3m gazebos are available on request.

Catering enquiries may be considered by the Worcester BID team. Please note that we will not be able to accept standard catering trailers or white vans at this event. Gazebo based set ups or catering set ups in unusual or historic vehicles, e.g. vintage caravan, VW bus or similar in keeping with the event theme may be considered.

Please email details including your business name, postal address, phone number, overview of products/services/menu, images of your stall set up, dimensions of your stall (including towbars and overhangs) to info@worcesterbid.com.

 

Advertising & Sponsorship

We are happy to provide you with an overview of available sponsorship opportunities, including event programme advertising, Worcester News event supplement advertising, sponsorship of entertainment & activities, VIP reception, stage branding, giveaways, social media, event pitches and more.
