Worcester Walk-in Health Centre to lose Walk-in Service
The following news is important to the health and well-being of everyone who lives or works in the city centre, so please share it with employees and colleagues. It has been announced that, as part of a local Urgent Care Review, the Worcester Walk-in Health Centre will be losing its ‘walk-in’ service from 1st August 2014, when all patients who are not registered there will have to travel to a new Minor Injuries Unit that is to be based at the hospital and near the A&E department (exact details have not been given by commissioners). This means that anyone who currently falls ill or needs medical appointments while they are working in Worcester city, will have to travel up to the hospital and wait to be seen. It is not a quick journey even by car, hospital parking is difficult and expensive, and public transport links to the hospital are poor, so this is going to be a huge disadvantage for many city dwellers, workers and visitors, and mean more time lost for employers. The planners are asking for YOUR VIEWS and have invited feedback by 19th MARCH using a number of methods:
- Join the conversation on Twitter #urgentcareworcs
- Fill in the survey online
- Complete and return the survey (pick up a copy from the walk-in centre Farrier Street)

Please be assured that the Worcester Walk-in Health Centre in Farrier Street will continue to see REGISTERED PATIENTS and our registered list is currently still open for new registrations, so if you want to see a GP or Nurse near your workplace, consider registering soon. It is also worth mentioning that, from October, any patients who live outside the area but work in the city and wish to register will be able to do so under new legislation.
