Worcester BID Annual Showcase and BID2 Consultation
The Annual Showcase takes place on Wednesday 18th June at 6pm in The View at Worcestershire County Cricket Club, New Road. It is an opportunity for you to review our activities in the previous 12 months and also to get your issues and ideas as we head towards a ballot in October for BID2. Full details along with information of a series of Focus Groups taking place in the next few weeks relating to BID2 are here
so please try and attend.
Sculpture on Friar Street
Worcester BID are delighted to have worked with Greyfriars and the National Trust in encouraging businesses in Friar Street to exhibit sculpture in the window frontages as part of a month long exhibition. 14 businesses are involved as well as over 100 pieces on display in the gardens of Greyfriars itself (entrance to the gardens is free). The exhibition runs until 21st June and we strongly recommend that you venture down Friar Street
and take a look – you will be impressed!
We welcome new BID business Ping An
in Pump Street. Located in the former Daisy’s Kitchen unit, the new owners have been offering free samples of their food to willing members of the public. They sell hot noodles, specialist flower teas, cakes, coconut buns, exotic fruit cakes and savoury snacks – with an oriental twist.
This is the last chance for any independent business who has not completed their form to get involved in the Uniquely Yours book which will feature stunning professional imagery and text on your business with your 1 page advert – again funded via the BID levy. Published in September, anyone who has not signed up but wants to needs to complete the form
by Wednesday 11th June
On Yer Bike!
The inaugural Worcester City 10K and Run Bike Run are coming to Worcester Racecourse on September 21st, don’t miss out on a fantastic day of sport and join together with your colleagues in the Run Bike Run endurance adventure! Two runners and a bike rider can tackle one section each and see if your team can complete the challenge against other Worcester companies. Or you can even take on the full 50km as an individual, enjoy the atmosphere of the Worcester City 10k as the first leg of your journey before heading out on the 35km bike ride, and finishing with another 5km run.
A great event for all the family takes place next month at Worcester Racecourse (Pitchcroft) and is being organised by West Mercia Police. SOSFest celebrates the work by the emergency services including many involved in the flooding in February and other partners and takes place between 11am and 3pm on Saturday 12th July.
