Marketing and promotion remains a huge area for the BID to be involved in.

Consultation with businesses outlined that marketing and promotion remains a huge area for the BID to be involved in. You wanted more investment in promoting the city and its businesses, fewer but larger events in more streets and an increased use of social media and digital marketing. 

Therefore, we will be continuing to promote the city to a defined audience in order to boost trading levels amongst BID businesses. The Worc Social Magazine

The Worc Social is the new quarterly magazine by Worcester BID launched in January 2018. It is all about local businesses and covers themes including fashion, style, events, lifestyle, business and advice. 5000+ printed copies are produced and distributed at city centre businesses and across the West Midlands. Digital copies are promoted via social media and enjoy a wide readership. Take a peek inside all of our issues:

Worcester's Little Book of Independents

Worcester is a haven for independent businesses and over 60% of the city’s traders are independent businesses.

Worcester BID has created the “Little Book of Independents”, a handy directory which we distribute to coach visitors (including 2018 Worcester Christmas Fayre coach visitors), the Tourist Information Centre and online.

Summer in Worcester Campaign

This Summer the Worcester BID are working with media partners Free Radio to bring businesses a 4-month campaign (May – August). 

As part of our exciting Summer campaign we also have a pop up park in Cathedral Square through out July and August where BID Businesses can come out and promote themselves for free.

  • Love our City spotlight campaign featuring 15 different businesses each month
  • Best Summer Ever Campaign. Station led competition driving footfall to the city centre to guess the total value of all the prizes displayed in the Reindeer Court unit. The competition will run through the whole of August finishing off the summer on a high for one very lucky winner.
  • As part of the ‘After Worc Feast Street’, breakfast show presenter Tom will be at the event doing challenges set by the BID Businesses and pre recording for the breakfast show the next day.

After Worc Feast Street

A vibrant food and arts festival held in the heart of the city every month.

‘After Worc’ Feast Street is the perfect opportunity for an after-work outing with your favourite colleagues or to make a night of it with friends and family, sampling the delicious food and having a few drinks. FeaST will pop-up after hours (5-10pm) in Cathedral Square and the Cornmarket on the first Thursday of the month from May until August.

Street stalls will be supplied by the fabulous foodie collective known as Grub Club.

Worcester Food Festival

Worcester’s annual Food Festival returns to the streets on the 27th and 28th of July! Discover the tasty treats that Worcester can offer you. Worcester Food Festival will return bigger and better than ever.

The Food Fest will showcase over 60 stalls offering delicious food and drink from local businesses and selected specialist producers, not to mention food and drink matching sessions, cookery demonstrations and master class workshops by a variety of well-established chefs.

This free event is for all the family and takes place throughout the pedestrianised city centre.

Worcester BID Pop Up Park

From the 2nd July to the 31st August the Worcester BID have organised a pop-up park in Cathedral Square. The park will be an area where visitors and locals can relax, enjoy the views and have a safe area children can play. As part of the of the park we are scheduling in businesses to put on activities for example yoga at the park, Harry Potter event at the park and Dancefest summer school.

Student Campaign

Worcester BID levy paying businesses can once again sign up for the free promotion of their Student Offers for the 2018/19 academic year. To submit your offer *, please click here to download the sign up form. Offers are promoted on @VistWorcester on Social Media.

* Please note that we cannot include alcoholic drinks promotions as part of the student offers on our website. However, promotions of special student club nights or food and non-alcoholic drink related promotions are acceptable. Please state if any age restrictions apply.
