Following last week’s scorching heatwave, the critical importance of keeping residents, visitors, and cyclists safely hydrated across the city centre has stayed top of mind. In a brilliant response, Worcester’s business community has stepped up in a great way, uniting to join a brand-new Refill Pilot aimed at promoting active travel and slashing single-use plastic waste, an initative by Bike Worcester and Worcester BID.
An incredible 31 local businesses and venues have officially signed up for the scheme, transforming the high street into a collective network of hydration stations.
To ensure the initiative is completely accessible, participating spaces are opening their doors wide during business hours: anyone can walk in to top up their reusable water bottle for free, with absolutely no pressure to make a purchase or use the venue. Simply look out for the distinctive “Refill Here” stickers proudly displayed in their windows.
