Worcester BID Celebrates Independent Retailer Month with City Centre Spotlights!
Worcester BID is shining a proud spotlight on the city’s booming independent business sector this July as it officially launches its campaign for Independent Retailer Month.
The global event, which runs annually throughout July, is designed to highlight the vital social and economic impact that smaller, locally-owned retailers have on their communities. National brands bring footfall, but it is the independent boutiques, speciality shops, and unique service providers that give Worcester city centre its distinct character, diversity, and economic resilience.
To celebrate these local champions, Worcester BID is dedicating its digital channels to an intensive month-long storytelling series. Throughout July, residents and visitors can follow @worcesterbid on Instagram to enjoy dedicated business spotlights. The campaign aims to introduce shoppers to the actual founders, owners, and creative minds behind Worcester’s independent retail scene, building a deeper personal connection between the community and the high street.
From established family businesses to fresh new faces, the spotlights will provide the local people “behind-the-counter”.
Statistics consistently show that spending money locally keeps wealth within the community, supports local jobs, and fosters a more sustainable town centre.
