Worcester Cathedral saw a paws-itively fantastic turnout as local residents brought their pets and animal companions along for the annual Pets & Service Animals Blessing Service.
The service invited animals of all shapes and sizes, along with special recognition for active and retired service animals, into the iconic building to celebrate the bond between pets and their owners. Beyond offering a joyful moment of appreciation, the event drove a significant boost in footfall across the city centre, filling high-street pathways with visitors of both the two- and four-legged variety.
The gathering highlights Worcester’s growing reputation as an exceptionally dog-friendly destination, where independent shops, cafes, and major landmarks regularly welcome canine companions.

To make exploring the city even easier for dog owners, a brand-new local guide titled ‘Worcester Woofs’ will officially launch next month. The dedicated map will be available at the Tourist Information Centre located inside the Guildhall, pinpointing local dog-friendly businesses, venues, and stop-offs throughout the city centre.
