The timeline for one of Worcester’s most anticipated cultural regeneration projects has been confirmed, as city leaders reveal the expected completion target for the Scala Theatre.

Scala, the city’s new arts centre, is set to open in summer 2027, bringing independent film, live music, performances and more to the heart of Worcester.

Located in Angel Place, the redevelopment will convert the historic venue into a modern, multi-use performance space and arts hub. The venue will accommodate live theatre, film, comedy, and community performances, filling a vital niche in the local creative scene while driving evening economy footfall in the northern city centre quarter.

The ambitious restoration project forms a key pillar of Worcester’s broader high street regeneration scheme, preserving key historic architectural elements while installing state-of-the-art facilities for future generations.
