Priory Café is officially celebrating its first anniversary, marking one year since joining Friar Street .

When owners opened the doors to No. 44 Friar Street, their vision was to breathe new life into a historic 400-year-old building while creating a warm, welcoming space for the local community. Embracing the building’s rich 17th-century heritage, complete with historic 1620s artwork alongside modern, sustainably sourced timber—they set out to serve honest, high-quality food with genuine hospitality.

Over the last twelve months, The Priory Cafe has quickly become a bustling local favourite on Friar Street. Guests flock in for delicious all-day breakfasts, satisfying lunches, traditional afternoon teas, and crisp fish and chips, alongside thoughtfully prepared vegetarian and gluten-free options. Beyond the daytime hub, the cafe has also delighted regulars with its exclusive Spanish Tapas Club evenings and private celebration hostings.

Together, the dedicated front-of-house and kitchen team has built an inviting haven where locals and visitors alike can relax, catch up, and enjoy the very best of British classics surrounded by centuries of character.

As The Priory Cafe steps into its second year, it remains a glowing testament to Worcester’s vibrant, independent food scene.
