La Contessa is officially open in Worcester city centre, bringing a vibrant new menu and a completely revitalised dining space to Friar Street.

Taking over the site formerly occupied by Cafe Piano, the restaurant has undergone a striking transformation. Stripped back to brick and thoughtfully redesigned, the new interior features hand-painted touches, including a custom mural celebrating Worcester Cathedral, blending Italian heritage with a celebration of our local city.

Helmed by an authentic Italian chef, La Contessa’s menu focuses on rustic, traditional recipes made with quality ingredients. Early diners have already been praising the selection, from classic seafood dishes to rich handmade pasta specialities.

The team behind La Contessa shared with Worcester News:

“We’ve had such good feedback on the food, and people are loving what’s been done with the place.”

The first review for the venue backs this up, reading:

“Great place, I ate there last night on their opening night; food was great, service even better…”

The team at La Contessa cannot wait to welcome more guests through our doors.

La Contessa is open for both lunch and evening sittings throughout the week, making it a brilliant spot for a midday bite or a relaxed evening meal.

Open from noon to 2.30 pm and 5 pm to 10 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and open from noon to 9 pm on Sundays.

The venue is closed on Wednesdays.
