Heart of Worcestershire (HoW) College has announced a series of planned improvements across its Worcester campus this summer, as part of its continued investment in creating high-quality, accessible, and inclusive environments and enhancing student experience.

The programme of estate improvements forms part of HoW College’s wider ‘Place’ strategy, ensuring facilities make best use of space with environments where students and staff can thrive, and curriculum delivery is supported in the most effective way.

A number of developments are already underway including All Saints, where the Hair & Beauty department is relocating into newly refurbished accommodation on the ground floor, creating a more modern learning environment. As part of these works, the reception area will also be upgraded to provide a more welcoming arrival experience for students and visitors.

Student support services will become more visible and accessible through the creation of a new Student Hub alongside the Student Experience and Wellbeing Team, while a new dedicated staff space will be created.

At St Andrews, Art & Design will relocate into the building, and a new quiet study zone will be created, offering students a calm and inclusive learning environment. Resources from the Gill Callen Study Centre will be redistributed across All Saints and Cathedral study centres to ensure continued access for students.

The Cathedral building will become home to Sports and Public Services, with an existing engineering workshop being transformed into a dedicated sports teaching space, making greater use of the building while improving the quality of facilities.

Meanwhile, St Wulstan’s will be refreshed with minor refurbishment projects ahead of becoming the home of the growing Health & Social Care provision for the 2026/27 academic year.

These developments are designed to create high-quality, well-maintained environments that reflect the standards HoW College sets for its students and staff, strengthen collaboration and learning experiences, improve the visibility of student support services, and ensure the estate remains sustainable and fit for the future.

Cherie Clements, Vice Principal – Finance and Corporate Operations, said: “These improvements represent another important step in delivering our ‘Place’ strategy and demonstrate our commitment to investing in environments where our students and staff can thrive. By making better use of our estate and creating inclusive, welcoming learning spaces, we’re ensuring our campuses continue to meet the needs of current and future learners whilst supporting outstanding curriculum delivery. We want to share our gratitude to students, staff, and the wider community for your continued support as we deliver these improvements and continue to invest in HoW College.”
