Exciting changes are taking shape on Sidbury as diggers arrive at King Street Car Park, marking the start of a long-awaited expansion for local favourite Benedicto’s Italian Restaurant.

After nearly five years of planning and patience, owners Gianluca Tilotta and Gaetano Cinao have officially begun work on a two-storey extension that will transform the 20-year-old independent business.

The extension will welcome a stylish new Italian wine bar and café, four boutique guest rooms on the upper floor, an expanded kitchen area, and accessible facilities. Designed to complement the restaurant’s traditional dining room, the new space will offer a relaxed spot for guests wanting to pop in for an authentic espresso, a casual glass of wine, or a private gathering.

The expansion comes alongside the launch of Rizzo Wine Club & Italian Deli just around the corner on King Street.

The team added:

“After months of planning, meetings, ideas and plenty of hard work behind the scenes, it’s incredibly exciting to finally see our Benedictos expansion becoming a reality! There’s still plenty to do, but step by step, our vision is coming together… and we cannot wait to share it with Worcester. Coming early 2027 will be a brand-new Italian Caffè, a stylish Wine Bar and our very own Boutique Hotel! All created as part of the next chapter of Benedictos, bringing even more Italian food, wine, hospitality and atmosphere to the heart of Worcester.

We’re incredibly proud of how far Benedictos has come, and 2027 is going to be a very special year. We’ll be sharing plenty more as the transformation continues, so watch this space…  Benedictos is growing. And we’re only just getting started.”

While construction is underway on King Street Car Park, Benedicto’s remains open to welcome diners as usual throughout the development.
