For over a decade, Francini Café de Colombia has been bringing a vibrant splash of South American colour and warmth to Worcester’s independent food and drink scene.
Located on Angel Place, the café is the passion project of husband-and-wife owners Francini and Sandra. After 14 years of travelling the UK organising exhibitions, Francini noticed a clear gap for high-quality, authentic coffee.
In June 2014, the duo decided to put down roots in Worcester, creating a space designed to make visitors feel like they’ve stepped into another country. Every detail is deeply personal, down to the intricate leaves and flowers hand-painted on the walls by Sandra herself.
What truly sets the independent café apart is its direct “seed to cup” philosophy. The 100% Arabica coffee served is grown, hand-picked, and roasted on their own multigenerational family farm, nestled in the mountains of Filandia and Pijao within Colombia’s Quindío Department.
By importing their harvest directly to Worcester, Francini and Sandra not only ensure peak quality but also bypass the middleman entirely, allowing them to directly support neighbouring local farmers in their home region: “no franchise templates, just one family, one farm, and a cup made with all the love it takes to grow, roast, paint and pour it”.
